Editorial Review Pediatricians know that even the fussiest, wiggliest infants can settle down in minutesor secondswhen swaddled. But parents know just how difficult it can be to trap those little octopuses in the very thing that's supposed to calm them. Enter SwaddleMe! This handy little piece of ivory colored fleece allows parents to contain their newborn snugly (not tightly) with adjustable side wings and a leg pouch. Velcro tab closure allows for a good fit, even as baby grows. The leg pouch pops down for easy diaper checks and changesall while baby's arms remain securely wrapped. Winner of the iParenting Media Award, and featured in Parenting Magazine, August 2003. The incredibly soft 100% polyester microfleece is machine washable (read care instructions for specifics). Amazon.com Product Description Pediatricians know that swaddling babies has multiple benefits. It can calm a fussy infant in minutes, it can reduce colic by recreating the womb, it can ease startle reflex that wakes them, and it can even reduce the risk of SIDS by helping little ones sleep through the night. But those pediatricians aren't the ones having to wrestle a wiggly infant into a swaddled state. Parents know how difficult it can be to accomplish this, especially with loose blankets. Luckily, Kiddopotamus has just the thing: their SwaddleMe adjustable wrap. This ingenious covering snugly-not tightly-holds baby through a system of self-fasteners that can adjust to provide a comfortable fit as baby grows. | | An easy, three-step process has baby bundled and calm in seconds. | How it works Align baby's shoulders with the contoured top of the open SwaddleMe and tuck their legs inside the leg pouch. Wrap the left wing over baby's torso, tuck it around baby's left arm, and attach the fabric fastener to the leg pouch. Place the right wing over the left and secure with fabric fasteners. NOTE: The fabric should never cover baby's mouth or nose. The simplicity of SwaddleMe is enough to sell most parents, but Kiddopotamus went the extra mile on convenience, too. The leg pouch folds down for easy diaper checks and changes-while baby's arms remain cozily secure. SwaddleMe has a harness slit on its back that allows it to be placed in car seats, strollers, and swings for babies on the move. Based on your location, or the time of year that baby will use SwaddleMe, the comfy contraption is available in three different fabrics-lightweight microfleece, cotton flannel, and knit cotton-and a slew of colors and patterns. Sizes The SwaddleMe is available in three, offering a perfect fit for whatever stage you need: preemie is for babies weighing 3-7 pounds; small is for babies weighing 7-14 pounds; and large is for babies weighing 15-22 pounds. These sizes are meant to be only a guideline as babies' girth can vary.

Bed time in 10 minutes! November 29, 2004 Izzy (North East, USA) 215 out of 220 found this review helpful
OK, so it takes a video, and instructor, a selection of multiple blankets to find one that works properly just to swaddle my son which he can wriggle out of in 5 minutes. I got the swaddleme as a gift and man! I can get him to sleep in 10 minutes now. The other thing I like about it is it's only one layer of blanket, not the inevitable 3 layers that swaddling the old fashioned way ends up being. He used to get very over heated. The only issue I have with these is that they only made them for newborns until very recently, and finding the large ones for 4-7 month olds are impossible. My son has just about outgrown these but hasn't quite outgrown swaddling so I'm searching endlessly for some place that carries the large ones.
fantastic swaddler - makes for a peaceful night's sleep July 28, 2005 E. Demskis (Pennsylvania) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
We began using the SwaddleMe wrap the day our son came home from the hospital. We have been so thrilled with this product, that we bought the lighter weight cottons ones for the summer and into the fall. Our son has been sleeping soundly through the night (8 hours) since he was 6 weeks old, and I credit that to the tight swaddle this wrap provides. Babies are less likely to wake up if they are snuggly wrapped and can't "startle" themselves with loose hands and legs. I trust this company so much, that I've gone ahead and ordered the Beddie Bye blankets for when he outgrows the SwaddleMe wraps. The wraps wash very well, just one word of caution - before putting the wrap in the washing machine, velcro it closed so that the velcro can't attach itself to other clothes in the washer or dryer. I forgot one time and managed to damage a knit outfit because the velcro created a bunch of pulls on it. I HIGHLY recommend this product!
A Must Have for Baby and Parent!!!!!!!!! December 3, 2004 Swaddle Engineer (NC, USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My wife and I just recently had our first baby and like so many of you out there, wanted the best for our son and was suckered into buying every product known to man. Ironically, we did not buy the Swaddle Me wrap because I thought it looked silly and would be useless, I mean how many babies need swaddling anyway? This was the "first time dad" stupidity and lack of experience talking. Luckily, friends bought this for us and told us that we would soon learn that this would become our bestfriend and lifesaver. Boy were they mindreaders! A blanket is a joke to swaddle a newborn in. Our son broke free almost instantly. I swear only a skilled nurse can wrap them as tight as they needed to be. I thought they were taught this trick to fool us into thinking that we all had such quiet babies so that you would leave the hospital as quick as possible, before you learned otherwise! One night I suggested that we try that "wrap thing" to see if it would work, a last ditch effort I thought. Holy Cow! This wrap is amazing!!!!! Yes your child will look like a human PEZ but hey, who cares as long as their happy! Our son now sleeps peacefully through the night and I am buying a larger size (4-6 months)for him since he is growing out of the newborn size. Buy it and you will sleep like you did before you had your baby, I promise!!!!!!!!!
Wish I had bought it sooner! March 11, 2005 New NC Momma (Raleigh, NC) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
We love the "swaddle me" blanket. I read so much about swaddling and how it is supposed to calm your baby, but I could never get my "swaddles" to stay. Our 5-week old son would always wiggle out of our "baby burritos", so we eventually gave up on tryng them, even with the blankets we took home from the hospital. Then, I saw the Swaddle Me and decided to give it a try. The first night, he slept for over 7 hous straight! I had to run to his room every so often to make sure he was ok because I didn't hear a peep out of him. Since then, he's been sleeping through the night almost every night. This product is well worth the money -- I plan on buying one for some friends that are expecting this year!
The best gift I received!! May 1, 2005 Gina P (Indiana, USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I cannot say enough about this blanket!! My daughter is 2 months old now and has been sleeping through the night since she was 6 weeks and I know it is because of her "bedtime suit" as we call it. There have been a few nights she's wiggled herself out of it and is awake instantly but I just put her back in and she's sleeping again. It is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone!!
