Product Description OATHS SWORN . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide.
Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.
First is Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices— choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.
Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king?

Simply an amazing read. You cannot put it down!!! Can't wait for the fourth book.
Paolini gets better with every book September 25, 2008 S. RAY (India) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Brisingr is indeed a worthy successor to the Eldest. The plot was very well created and the language is at its best. It is amazing how a 19 year old can write a trilogy like this. It was impossible for me to keep down the book and do minor things like eating and sleeping. All in all an extremely captivating tale and worth every penny. Its a must read.
AMAZING September 28, 2008 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book shows how much Christopher Paolini has matured as a writer since Eragon. I finished the 700 something page book in 3 days and it was so suspenseful and gripping, I couldn't put it down. I finished the book after a 5 hour nonstop reading session, and now I only feel sadness at the indefinite waiting period between Brisingr and the 4th, and final, book in the Inheritance cycle. as each chapter drew to a close, it presents you with a cliffhanger of such@intensity that it feels simply impossible to put the book down. in Eldest, the second book in the cycle, I admit that i dreaded the scenes where the focus shifted away from Eragonandonto his cousin Roran, but in Brisingr, every part kept me on the edge of my seat, reading hungrily ad waiting for more. Se onr sverdar sitja hvass!
Worth the wait! September 26, 2008 Juliette Marshall (Vermont) 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
I hate waiting as much as anyone, but I still think the book was intriguing. The story was pretty intense and the use of the fire metaphor was top-notch. I wish I could give it more stars, cause my kids just love it!
I liked it as much as Eldest September 25, 2008 Beth Hall (Nebraska) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I know that some people were turned off by this book, and I agree that it was not as easy to get through as the others. However, I think the story is dynamic and I enjoy watching it evolve through each of the books. A lot of people I know felt the same way when the 3rd and 4th Harry Potter books came out and look what's become of that! Like others I don't want to give too much away, other than the fire meaning of Brisingr has great significance for the book. I think those that liked Inheritance will will also like Brisingr. Oh, I almost forgot! I ordered two books with Brisingr (already read all 3!) that I saw mentioned in one of the reviews, The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book and The Impulse Factor: Why Some of Us Play It Safe and Others Risk It All. They are awesome if you like psychology books :)
