Product Description In order to meet growing consumer demand for storing lots of pictures, movies, and music, a dependable high-speed and greater capacity memory card is indispensable. Transcend's SDHC cards use brand name NAND Flash chips and premium quality components to ensure robust, long-life durability and excellent performance. This combo package that includes a SDHC card together with a compact Card Reader S5 makes transferring data easier than ever. Just slide the SDHC card into S5 and plug it directly into any USB 2.0 (or 1.1) port and is capable of data transfer rates up to 480Mb/s. The reader works just like a standard USB flash drive, and supports the SDHC standard for hi-end large capacity memory cards. Transcend's SDHC + the world's thinnest SD / MMC Card Reader S5 is the perfect combination for your mobile lifestyle.

Great memory card and reader combination. September 30, 2008 John Kuykendall (Virginia, USA) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
Needed a larger capacity SD-HC memory card for my digital camera. Saw this card/reader combo on Amazon for a great price, easily half of what I could have bought locally. Very happy with the card so far -- NOTE: The only problem with these high-capacity cards is that they apparently can't be read with a normal SD reader.
Excellent Value - but be careful where you order it from... October 13, 2008 NLee the Engineer (Nashua, NH) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I purchased the 16GB version (Transcend 16GB SDHC CARD with Compact Card Reader) of this package a few months ago. The card was meant to be used in my Canon S5 camera. But I soon discovered that it works extremely well with the included card reader as an USB flash drive (much larger and faster than my SanDisk 4GB Cruzer Micro). So I ended up using it mainly for data backup and transfer between my laptop and desktop computers. The card has proven to be fast and reliable in the past 2-3 months of daily usage. As first I was skeptical about Transcend's speed rating of 'class 6', which means minimum 6MB/S when writing. But my own benchmark results (see Customer Images) showed that this card is capable of writing typical photo files at 10.5MB/S - nearly twice its specified minimum data transfer rate. Just for reference, the Sandisk 8GB EXTREME III claims a faster speed of 20MB/S, but it costs about twice as much. Considering its low cost and respectable speed, this Transcend card is an excellent buy. But please make sure that you order it from a reputable vendor only. Several reviewers who ordered the 16GB version from TheMemStore complained that they received some no-name card reader (instead of the Transcend DRS5). This may explain why some people have encountered problems when using this card.
Works September 25, 2008 KidHorn (Maryland) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this for use in a canon hf100 camera and so far it works fine. I'm buying a second one. I like the card reader. It makes it much easier to transfer files to my computer as opposed to using the usb cable that came with the camera. I can also plug the card reader in my ps3 and play the video directly to it.
Great for long trips abroad October 11, 2008 Dame Droiture (New York, NY USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I actually bought this card many months ago before they introduced the reader with it as a package deal, and I am considering buying another one just for the reader. Another reviewer mentions to "think twice" if this is why you might want to buy it, and I am... but the card really is good on its own in any case. I took it to a 3-week pilgrimage in Spain (where computer access was little to none) and was able to save a whopping 729 photographs on a 7.1MP Canon Elph -- plus room for more, I later found. I didn't upload any of the photos until I returned stateside, and many are still on the camera so that I can show them to people using the camera itself. For computer usage, I found the card to be decent, but not spectacular. It runs ok with an Asus Eee PC on Linux, and ok on a Dell with Vista. Try popping the thing into your Treo, though, and Windows Mobile freaks out a bit. I think I'll still get another one, though.
Awesome Product October 11, 2008 Nathan E. Hood (Columbus, OH) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
USB card reader works great! 8GB Card works great! I put it in my Canon SD100 IS Elph camera and couldn't be happier. A great Deal!
