Excellent product for a few bucks October 10, 2007 Alan Manning (USA) 32 out of 33 found this review helpful
I Bought this for my dell Laptop (17 in.) and it works great. I can really tell the difference in temperature. It is very silent and what I like the most is that it has three green LED lights that indicate when the fans are on, I ASSUME that if any of the three fans stops working, the light will go off. I WOULD BUY A SECOND ONE IF I NEED IT.
Thin, Light, Quiet, Inexpensive and Effective August 14, 2007 Stanley O. Chang (Ohio, United States) 44 out of 48 found this review helpful
I've only had it for a day. I selected this cooling pad because of the 3rd fan located front and center. That is where my Dell D600 Latitude's hot spot is. This unit is light plastic, with corrugated ribs for provide channels for airflow. The 3 flat fans pull air from the surface of the pad and blows it out the back. The 9/16" thin pad back edge is mostly open space to exhaust air from under a notebook. Fan speed is low, which is why its so quiet. The construction is on the light side so I will be handling this carefully. The power plug is USB on one end and 1/8" round plug on the other end of the 30" cord. The round power plug fits in a socket on the right side. A slide switch on the front center edge turns the unit on with 3 green LED's, presumably one for each fan, indicating the unit is powered up. Pretty simple. My laptop builds up a lot of heat and the desk surface at my docking station got very warm. The laptop heats up as airflow to bleed off the excess heat is almost non existant in the thin crack of a space between the laptop bottom and desk surface, created by the rubber bumber feet of the laptop. At times it got so hot, the electrons got heatstroke and wandered around aimlessly as the machine slowed to a crawl and hungup. The airflow removes heated air and keeps the laptop from creating global warming under it due to trapped air. My laptop no longer heats up like it did. This is a great little cooler. I use it at home and at work. Lightweight, but does the job.
No More Hot Thighs November 7, 2007 Karen (Philadelphia, PA) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
Didn't expect it to work for my 17 inch laptop. But was pleasantly surprised to find that heat generation was greatly reduced.
Stay away till they improve the power cord September 30, 2006 D. Francis (New Bedford, MA) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
Original review - read on below for updated review - Works great so far. Has three fans which do the job for my 15 inch laptop. Fits those 12-13 inch laptops perfectly, it works great for me anyways. Have it for over two weeks now and my laptop no longer gets hot - and I have quite a lot of servers running on my laptop- it used to get hot and stay hot - but now everything works great. Got it from another seller itholic for 8 bucks plus 5 for shipping and for the combined 13 bucks, couldnt have asked for a better product to keep my laptop running smoothly. Will edit this comment if I notice any changes in this product. UPDATE!!!The power cable is too loose and does not hold well into the cooler. Avoid buying this unless the improve the power cord. Works well when it does hold up.
