Should have bought TWO sets September 16, 2008 S. Loudenburg (Spencer, South Dakota United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What was I thinking? I should have bought two sets, as this one was a gift. But I didn't realize what a nice presentation the set would have in its wooden box. We really need one at our house too...
Quality ? or Not September 21, 2008 Marvin C. Croson (Fayetteville, NC USA) These are nice steak knives and a value at the reduced price on the todays deal, other wise I would have been disapointed.

These knives are fine for what they are: a good deal on a set of very sharp steak knives with the Wusthof name. However, having gotten accustomed to the Wusthof "Classic" series in our kitchen, these "Gourmet" series knives felt oddly light and plasticky. Once you do some research you'll find that Wusthof makes several styles that span a wide range of prices: Gourmet, Grand Prix, Classic, Ikon, Culinar, etc.
Decent knives September 16, 2008 Michael Mullaney (Greater Boston, MA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are servicable knives and certainly worth the sale/goldbox price paid. At full retail, I don't see these stacking up against comparably priced knives (I have a set of Henckles ProS).
Really Wusthof? September 17, 2008 S. Lowe (Norfolk, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The nicest part of this set was the box. I was unimpressed with the knives - light handles and flimsy blades. They have a very cheap feel to them, and left me wondering if these were really Wusthof. If so, they are certainly a price-point set. There is no way anyone would pay the list price for these. For the $99 special price they were not a bad deal, but I returned them anyway because I was expecting Henckels Pro-level quality, and these are not. I will say that this was my first return to Amazon in quite some time and I was reminded of how flawless their return procedures are.
