Love This Set!!!! August 1, 2008 R. Hamatani (Carlsbad, CA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Chef's Secret 14 Piece Element Cookware with Thermo Control Knobs I grew up with Waterless Cookware. My parents felt that cookware was an important health investment-they have had their set for more than 20 years and still love them. I wanted a good set of my own but could not afford the "in home show" price tag. After reading many reviews and understanding what pieces I use most while cooking-I invested in this 14 piece set. I didn't think the set would hold to the same kind of standard that my parents and friends have, but thought it was better than my old non-stick set anyway. Wow!!!! Great quality and heavy weight just like the other kinds. I really couldn't have asked for a better set to fit my needs and the health benefits that I can give my family is just unbelievable for the price. I used the pans for a couple of months before I sat down to write this review, just to be sure I would still be as happy as I was when I got them. If you use the "in home show" suggestions for cooking you get the same results, but at the tune of a typical pan set price. I think that this was one of the best investments that I have made in a very long time. It isn't too good to be true this time. Don't hesitate to make this purchase.
Superb quality. Great price. September 3, 2008 Steven S. Daniel Sr. (Houston, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife bought this set and boy are we pleased. The pots are very thick and the bottoms conduct and distribute heat very well. The fit and finish is beautiful. Everythng is very well designed and built. The big pan makes a great wok if you like stir fry like we do. A friend of ours bought this set from a home party and paid WAY more than we did. Our only complaint is that we'd have liked some instructions on how to use the lid thermometers when cooking.
Great set, make sure you wait for a sale September 30, 2008 Jared H. Street (Salt Lake City, UT) This is a very nice stainless steel cookware set for the price. One quick note about the description, it says these are 9 element but the cookware I received is 12 element according to the imprint on the bottom of the pan. This cookware set is much nicer than most of the stainless steel cookware sets you will find locally and was about on par with the really expensive sets I looked at. The pots and pans are a very thick gauge stainless steel and the heavy bottoms heat up quickly and retain their heat for quite a while. I've found you have to cook on much lower heat with these pans even if you're not cooking with the waterless method. Other reviews have complained about the thermometer knobs on the lids but I really don't see a problem with them since I really didn't buy this cookware for the waterless cooking aspect. I bought it because it came with a good selection of skillets and wasn't just all pots. The thermometer knobs are useful in helping you cook at the same temperature every time. The only potential problem I can see with these pans is the handles. I haven't had any problems with them at all but they seem cheaply made and the welds for the handle bracket don't inspire a lot of confidence. If the welds do break loose it wouldn't be that hard to have them welded back on, but it seems like the handles could have been built a little beefier. Overall I highly recommend this set if you want a very nice everyday cookware set that doesn't cost a fortune.
Chef's Secret Cookware October 13, 2008 Jimmy L. Waldrop (Southern California) This is a very good quality cookware set at a reasonable price. It is great for the novice cook as well as the gormet chef.
Before you buy, consider the 15 piece set with different lids! June 25, 2008 Ashley Williams 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
The product came to me defective. The lids didn't fit quite right, so I didn't even get a chance to try them out. I returned them. I decided to turn around and purchase the Chef's Secret 15 piece set that had the knobs that whistle instead. I was much more pleased with the quality of the lids, and they cook really well. Its a bit tricky to get the temperature just right without burning things, but I think I'll get the hang of this waterless thing eventually. I love the added flavor that waterless, greaseless cooking adds. Before you buy, I'd take a look at something else!
