I hate spiders July 16, 2006 JC_WA (Washington USA) 37 out of 38 found this review helpful
I hate spiders. If I see one inside, I can't let it leave it my sight without killing it. People tell me to catch them and let them go outside. That makes no sense to me - they always come back. I didn't have much hope for this but thought I'd give it a try. So far I've encountered 3 spiders over the past 2 months - 2 fairly large spiders, and one small one. Each time the bug vacuum easily sucked the spiders up and - this is the best part - electrocuted them. Two of the spiders were sucked in and dead within about 2 seconds. The other kind of hung around on the wall for a few seconds with no way to get away, then violently flew into the vacuum and was shocked to death. If you turn the vacuum on and off a few quick times after the bug's been sucked in (and likely already dead), you'll see little sparks shoot off the bug's carcass. It's easy to use and there's no splatters left on the wall. Don't listen to anyone who tells you spiders are our friends. That's what they want us to think. They all need to die, and this is the perfect weapon. I'm doing my part - what about you?
No more slipper prints on the ceiling! September 30, 2006 Thomas McSally (Norwalk, CT USA) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
My condolences to "The Birthday Girl" for receiving such a practical (if un-romantic) gift for her birthday but the Lentek Bug Vacuum is one of those rare products that does exactly what it says it does and does it well. My wife hates bugs and spiders and her preferred disposal method in the past has been the old reliable "smack them with her slipper". This method usually works but has an unfortunate tendency to leave footprints on the walls and ceilings and the occasional shriek of fear as a fast one gets away. Not any more now that we have a Lentek Rechargeable Bug Vacuum! It may be big, it may be loud but man! does this thing suck up the bugs! Then it zaps them with a mini bug zapper, all safely enclosed in a plastic tube. My wife was skeptical when it first arrived and made fun of my new toy but after seeing it in operation she's now a believer. There are some minor downsides... The "flexible tip" isn't quite as flexible as they say but it almost always works. It's big. It's noisy when operating. The "remains" have an annoying tendency to get their many legs entrapped in the wire mesh of the zapper, requiring some banging and shakeing to extract. But it DOES work! And when it sucks in the bugs there's a satisfying little "zzzt, zzzt, zzzt" sound and blue glow as your victim is resoundly zapped into the after-life.

Now that spring is here the bugs are starting to make their way into my house. This product is great for bugs flying high in places I can not reach.
BUG BUSTERS!!!!!!!!! June 10, 2007 Omer G. Wilson (ORLANDO, FLORIDA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My daughter says it's the greatest since sliced bread. She dispatches the beasties forthwith without any of the messy side effects associated with other methods. She definitely gives the product a hearty endorsement.
Great for arachnophobes! July 16, 2008 A. DeHorn (Livonia, Mich. USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am terrified of spiders, and this has been a lifesaver when I've been home alone and had to kill one! The tube is long enough that you can reach a bug on the ceiling usually without needing to get a chair or stool. And, it's long enough so you don't feel like you have to get too close to the bug -- which is good for me when I have to kill a spider. I have found that sometimes the suction is stronger when you don't use the cup attachment at the top. Some other bug vacuums suck the bugs into a cartridge that you have to replace, but this one is nice because there's no cartridge. The bug just get an electric shock and then you can shake it into the garbage or toilet. Sometimes I've had to pull the blue tube off and tap the device lightly on the toilet or the garbage can to get the bug to release. I had one of these before and it lasted about 5 years before its internal battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore. But, it was well worth the money, and I purchased a new one right away.
