Amazon.com Product Review The WORX GT is the perfect tool to neatly manicure your yard after you mow. It even won the prestigious Editor’s Choice award from Popular Mechanics Magazine at the 2006 Lawn and Garden Show. The lightweight WORX 18-volt battery-powered string trimmer weighs less than a gallon of milk and is the only trimmer on the market which converts from a standard grass trimmer to a true walk-behind edger – 2 tools in 1. The integrated Edger wheel allows you to quickly and easily roll the trimmer along your patio or driveway for adding that perfectly edged look to your yard or garden. And forget the hassle of pull starters - the WORX GT starts with the single push of a button. Forget the aggravation of untangling extension cords – the 18-volt battery-powered WORX GT can trim up to a 1/2 acre yard on a single charge. It goes anywhere you need to. And unlike some competitive cordless models, the WORX GT comes with a 1-hour quick charger so you don’t have to wait for hours for the battery to re-charge?you’re back to work in minutes not hours. The unique trimming head of WORX GT pivots up to 90-degrees to reach under decks, under play equipment, under trees and bushes or on slopes and hills. No more bumping to feed line. The auto-feed line system of the WORX GT feeds out line with a simple squeeze and release of the trigger. The fold-away spacer guard also helps to protect flowers, tree trunks, outdoor lighting and other delicate objects from damage by the trimmer line. The WORX GT adjusts in length and handle positions to ensure a more comfortable ergonomic fit and less strain on backs and arms. And unlike long, bulky trimmers, the WORX GT collapses for easy storage in a closet or garage. What's in the Box WORX GT 18-volt cordless string trimmer, 18-volt battery pack and 1-hour fast charger, pre-loaded spool with 16-feet of trimmer line, complete tri-lingual operator’s manual and product demo DVD for quick assembly and clear operation

Read the instructions May 31, 2008 R. Roll (Austin, TX) 42 out of 43 found this review helpful
When I purchased this product six months ago the reviews were 50/50 great vs. terrible so I decided to take the risk considering what I thought were the pros vs. the cons. I'm glad I did. I use this on about 500 lineal feet of grass every week and it works fine for me. Typically the battery will last right up to the end of it and then it's on it's last legs. Sometimes if there is extra trimming to do it will be more than the battery can handle so my one additional purchase was an extra battery. The power is fine for trimming around the house. If you plan on trimming a field of heavy weeds you shouldn't be looking at this in the first place. The instructions tell you to fully charge the battery and let it fully run out again before recharging. This has worked fine for me with the battery lasting about 45 minutes at it's limit. That's about all the trimming I care to do anyway. If the job isn't done if 45 minutes I'm going in for some iced tea. I have used this every week for 6 months and am still on my first roll of string, so the complaints that the feeder doesn't work or the string runs out too fast are bogus. The instructions tell you that the feeder works when you release the trigger and let it stop then pull the trigger again. If you don't walk around your yard trying to sound like Dale Jr by revving your trimmer you don't have the running out of string problem. All of the other features are great. The flexibility of the telescoping arm, the movable head and the trimmer (which took me a few times to master, but works fine once I did...I can't blame the machine for the intelligence of the operator). Bottom line, if you read and follow the instructions this tool works exactly as advertised. If you are like my dad and don't want to read instructions there is probably a gas trimmer out there somewhere with your name on it.
Some Great Features - Light Weight A Big Plus May 26, 2007 Douglas Westberry (Harford County, Maryland) 30 out of 31 found this review helpful
I received this WG150 in exchange for the WG103 I had bought. The problem I had with the WG103 was the string kept snapping back in the spool housing. Very frustrating. When I contacted the manufacturer they immediately offered assitance with the WG150. Wow, what a difference. The WG150 is so light and quiet. Was pleasantly surprised at how long the battery charge lasted on my quarter acre of land. Love the ability to convert easily to an edger and the ease of handling. Am so glad that the company backed their product and was easy to work with in resolving the problems I was having with the WG103. A real plus since instead of giving the WG150 a 4 star because of the 10" wide cutting path I am giving it a 5 because of the company backing and assisting the consumer. Thank you WORX.
great cordless trimmer/edger May 16, 2007 gardencook (seattle, wa usa) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I love this trimmer! I was a little unsure after seeing the infomercial- should I fall for the hype. I took a chance and bought through Amazon- better price. I am still on my first charge after three uses. I have a small yard, 8000 sqft. This trimmer does the job very well. The edger is fantastic too. The unit is very light and you don't get that vibration feeling after use. The only problems I had was the line ran out after one use- but Amazon fixed this issue. And the trimmer does not come with the braided double helix line that's is advertised on the infomercial. I have a neighbor that never mows- so his lawn is a mess at four feet tall. I tested this trimmer on a small section and it wacked the grass down very well, dandelion stems and all, making it easy to mow- but he didn 't... This trimmer is a good environmental choice. Very light weight- even with a hurt back, I was able to trim and edge. I am very glad about this purchase and would highly recommend this item.
Enjoy it May 23, 2007 J. Williams (Charlotte, NC) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I received a Worx GT for my birthday a couple weeks ago and love it! I have used it a few times and loaned it to my neighbors who were envying me as I walked around trimming. We could not believe how quiet and light it was and easy to use on our yards. Also like the guide wheel on the edger and ability to quickly change back and forther between trimmer and edger. The battery never lost charge after we all used it - plus no gas mix or pull start! We have not used it yet on tall grasses or clearing large growth just around the sidewalks, driveways and gardens. I hope you all buy this becuase you will forget about the gas can and heavy pull start trimmers real fast.
Perfect Edger for small yard June 11, 2007 Ed the Tool Guy (Southern California) 24 out of 27 found this review helpful
The trimmer rocks. We have a small yard with about 400 feet of edging. We had an electric trimmer, but I often skipped edging because of the inconvience of dealing with all the cords. So the solution became obvious to look for a battery operated unit (Gas would have been overkill). I was hesitant to buy the unit because their website has an infomercial feel to it. So I ordered it via another vendor because of their overly generous return policy expecting to return it. I setup the unit, charged the battery, and I was edging. It took several passes to get the lawn edged since it had been 4 months since I last edged. My old corded one would have taken several passes as well. I had figured the battery would not last. It almost made it through a complete 40 minutes before the battery finally gave up. The ergonomics are great. I can edge without being hunched over and it is comfortable than past units for tall people. I agree with other reviewers about it not having that much power as a gas trimmer. Duh! The power is slightly less than my old corded Black
