Amazon.com Review Biting fleas are more than just a nuisance for your cat. Left unchecked, they can cause serious disorders such as flea allergy dermatitis, secondary skin infections, tapeworms, and even anemia. This topical flea treatment stops fleas before they become a problem. Providing a full month of protection, it begins working in minutes, killing 98-100% of the fleas on cats within 12 hours, and 99% of flea larvae within 20 minutes. Plus, since dead fleas can't lay eggs and dead larvae can't hatch, the flea's life cycle is halted. Any new fleas your cat encounters are killed within two hours--preventing re-infestation for as long as four weeks. In fact, Advantage does such a good job breaking the flea's life cycle, there's no need to treat your cat's environment. Applied before the start of flea season, it helps keep your cat from becoming infested in the first place. Used year-round, it prevents fleas from over-wintering in your home to feast on your cat the next season. Safe for kittens as young as eight weeks and as small as nine pounds, Advantage is also water-resistant. This package includes 4 pre-measured doses in easy-to-use applicator tubes. Warnings Hazards to Humans: Causes eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed. Do not get in eyes or on clothing. Avoid contact with skin. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after handling. Second to none October 17, 2005 FrKurt Messick (Bloomington, IN USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
My cats have fleas! Or, at least, they had fleas. I have used over-the-counter, less expensive items (flea powders, flea collars, etc.) up to and including other topical products like this one, and nothing worked. The flea collars were less than worthless - they actually caused patches of fur to fall out on at least one cat. The powder was unwieldy, and the other topical applications (save one) did not work at all. I must give credit where credit is due - I have used Frontline before for my cats, and have been very satisfied with the results from that one. However, I decided to try Advantage this time, as I'd heard good things about it, and it was on sale at a discount when I needed it. I couldn't be more pleased. Unlike most other topical applications where the flea substance is put on the shoulder blades of the cats and stinks (STINKS!), this has no easily discernable smell. This is a good thing. Also, the cats seemed to settle down from their scratching and biting at fleas within just a few minutes. Last night was the first night in weeks that the cats have all rested peacefully. There were no signs of flea-dirt left in their usual sleeping spaces last night. I am very pleased indeed. My cats are also happy. While I still have an appreciation for Frontline, I am happy to have Advantage as a viable alternative. The cats give this a sixteen-paw salute! (Four cats, four paws each, you know...)

Advantage Works Better for Us than Frontline December 16, 2005 Gardyloo 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Every cat is different, but I agree with the previous reviewer that Advantage seems to work better than Frontline. We noticed our cat's fur was smoother and softer within just a couple of days. In the spring, we also get ticks, so the solution we've come up with is Frontline for March, April and May, then Advantage for the rest of the year. JMHO, I also think rotating the two products keeps it working better. If your cat is a mouser, it'd be a good idea to get a wormer too to keep the tapeworms at bay. We use it twice a year (once in early summer and the other just before Thanksgiving). Our cat has gotten used to a pill shoved down her throat twice a year, but good luck to the rest of you!
advantage for cats coming from Amazon August 16, 2008 Betty of Aragon.com (Salisbury, NC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
what can I say? I ordered it through Amazon, it was cheaper, worked better than Frontline, and cat is still flea and tick free, and there are no problems, and I saved about $20. I only had to click one time on amazon, and it shows up, I put it on the cat. All told it couldn't have taken more than 10 minutes from ordering to flea free cat. I guess this is a review and comment about the total ease in using Amazon.com. Will certainly use again. Thank you.
Frontline Didn't Work February 6, 2007 Goldielocks I used Frontline on my cat for several months. It simply didn't work. Switched to Advantage & have been flea free since.
