Great Game April 12, 2007 Joseph M. Mazen (Upper Saddle River, NJ United States) Monster Truck Madness is a fun game. Grave Digger is my favorite truck to drive. There are four types of racing: Drag, Circuit, Rally, and Tournament. There are addon tracks and trucks like A Crazier Eight, King of the Hill, Sierra Logging Run, Snowy Canyon, and the Patriot. The announcer, Army Armstrong is great! He says things like, "Grave Digger is doing it in the air!", "Grave Digger has gone over to say hello to his neighbor, which means the truck's out of competition.", and "There is no joy in Mudville. Grave Digger has crashed." Overall, a great game!
Good game especally for younger kids August 16, 2008 William B. Swanner (IL USA) Our grandson is almost 3 yrs old and he really likes to play and watch us play this game. He gets a kick out of watching the roll over replays. We all play or have played it and like it. Over all it's a good game only thing is the graphics need to be updated so they are more clear. Glad we bought it for him.
A good game in its own time. March 27, 2008 Micheal Hunt (Hellbourne) Back in highschool someone had this game and it was shared around between us cause it had the option to be fully installed or run off the disc. At about about a max of hundred meg of hardrive space, this game was hours of fun in it's time. When I updated to windows 98 in about 1999, i lost this game. I recently found it again and had a play with it, it hasn't aged extremely, but it does feel like a game that was only a slight step up from what DOS games looked like in the day.The graphics are not sickening, but very blocky, but that was how games where in 1995 for PC. The sound was always fun to hear with some cool hard rock tunes and the announcer saying things like, "bigfoot is doing it in the air" You can choose from a selection of Monster Trucks such as BigFoot, Grave Digger and a few others. As well as a cheat (type trex during a race) to turn into a monster eating truck which is not much fun to drive as it just tips all over the place. You can select to drag rqace where you race against another truck, first heading one way, then down the other side and over some cars to squash. There is a circuit, or a race track, with a few of them to choose from. A rally which is like the other races from check point to check point, but it's much bigger and a race from point a to point b. Plus a tournament mode where you do a drag, a race, a circuit then a drag a race a circuit etc... There was even a modem or internet way to play against people, they might still work, i dunno. ======================== The game was a lot of fun in it's day, but playing it now, i can see it runs pretty slow, and the graphics are out dated. It probably could be revived if you can figure out a way to speed it up and improve the graphics. I know at one point i owned MTM2, but i cant really remember it too well, I just remember I did not find it as much fun as this first one. Overall, check it out if you are interested, it's one of those games where you can go off the track and explore things and find "eggs" sort of things hidden in the tracks, like soccer fields, signs, and a hidden check point to play a hidden track. There is still also a few downloads available around for extra tracks and trucks to add onto the game. Like I said, if it could just be sped up a bit, it would still be a classic. But it's had it's time I suppose, but will not collect dust on my shelf forever.
