Compare Kaspersky Products | Virus detection and notification. | Quarantine potentially infected objects. | Using the Internet safely and securely Secure surfing. The solution analyses web pages and blocks potentially malicious web-based content. It also blocks pop ups and ads, which are not simply irritating: virus writers often use ads to install Trojans that steal your confidential data or give the Trojan's owner access to your computer. Privacy Control. Many malicious programs attempt to locate and harvest user IDs and passwords for online bank accounts, auctions, shops, email, payment systems, chat rooms, online games and etc from Windows Protected Storage. Kaspersky Internet Security monitors and blocks all attempts to collect and forward your confidential data from this storage area. Protection from phishing. Kaspersky Internet Security filters out phishing emails and protects you from accessing websites run by phishers who use social engineering to fool you into sharing your banking or online payment information. Parental Control. Parents can protect their children from online predators by creating blacklists of individual websites, as well as identifying categories of forbidden content such as drugs, pornography and so on. These lists can be customized by user type for children, teens or adults. In addition, parents can manage their children's Internet experience by limiting the amount of time they spend online. Anti-virus protection and more Protection from all of today's Internet threats. Kaspersky Lab combines three protection technologies to protect you against viruses, Trojans, worms, keyloggers, rootkits and other threats. This means that you are safe from spyware, adware, pornware, crimeware and anything else today's cyber criminals invent. Firewall. The inbuilt personal firewall provides new generation protection from intrusions and data leaks. The default settings for popular applications control network and Internet activity using the IDS/IPS to prevent hackers from taking over your computer or stealing your data. Stealth mode allows you to surf safely and invisibly, protecting you from becoming a target for hacker attacks. Anti-spam protection. The anti-spam module uses a combination of filtration methods to protect you from spam targeting you personally: white and black lists of senders and content, self-modifying algorithms for text analysis, graphical spam analysis and more. Self-protection. Today virus writers begin their attack on your computer by disabling anti-virus protection. Kaspersky Internet Security is designed to block all attempts to disable protection, leaving you to work and play securely. Restoring your data and your system Rollback of malicious changes. Kaspersky Internet Security monitors system and application behavior for suspicious behavior. Once malicious behavior is detected, the process is blocked and any changes caused by malicious code are rolled back. Your system is clean and your original data is intact. Rescue disk. Creating a rescue disk is quick and easy using the built in wizard in Kaspersky Internet Security. If your computer is ever attacked by a virus, you can restore and disinfect your system right away by yourself using the rescue disk you created even if the operating system has been damaged.

The best I've tried! September 11, 2007 Matthieu P. Raillard (Portland, OR USA) 69 out of 72 found this review helpful
I have become rather cynical and jaded when evaluation new security suites, and I have tried the vast majority of them: Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro, Panda, ZoneAlarm, Windows Live OneCare and more. The ugly reality of the internet age we live in is the need for constant protection(if you can, examine the firewall log for your system, and you're likely to be stunned by the number of intrusion attempts made by trojans and other nasties), but this protection comes with a price: bigger and better software is also bigger and slower and less user-friendly. Most of the major brands are way too resource-hungry, too intrusive or too relaxed, and with a wide range of abilities in terms of virus and spyware hunting. Enter Kaspersky. While this security suite isn't perfect (I'd give it a 4.5 stars), it is by far the best I have ever had on my PC. PROS: Very, very capable virus and spyware detection, and a strong firewall. Kaspersky has long been one of the best performing suites, and at the end of the day, that's what you get it for- to prevent bugs from getting into your computer in the first place. The interface is also better than a lot of other suites, and while it's not perfect, it's easy enough to navigate and use. The memory footprint is also better than most suites, which is nice. Kaspersky also features the most regularly updated virus and spyware definitions- every couple of hours! The ability to scan all sorts of processes and also scan for rootkits is great to have. It comes with a thorough paper manual. CONS: The "training mode" for the firewall is a bit arcane and takes some getting used to, and might confuse a lot of users. The only other downside I've noticed is that the startup scans/downloads when you first boot your machine take a little bit longer than I'd like. That said, the performance of this software more than balances the extra few seconds I have to wait when booting up. Bottom Line: I feel much, much more secure with Kaspersky. It's been called "The experts' antivirus of choice", and I can see why.

I installed this software on my laptop and my desktop two months ago and am gratefull I have not had any issues. The firewall is solid and the antivirus is excellent with multiple updates each day. I did do a clean install, as every year I reimage my hard drives and that is when I add new software so maybe that is a reason I have had no issues. I have not noticed any slowdowns while working or web surfing. If you need a good firewall/antivirus suite I would recommend this one.
Every PC on the internet should have this! Works GREAT! March 23, 2008 CQ DX (Ohio, USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I had a malicious 'worm' virus attack embed itself in my PC recently, so I had 'Geek Squad' fix the problem after my Windows XP system went 'haywire' and became unusable. I have cable broadband and my 'Norton' anti-virus package let me down. The 'GS' technician highly recommended I delete 'Norton' and go with the 'Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0' package, which offers total protection on so many levels (firewall, anti spyware, anti pop-ups, anti virus). The installation was simple and everything works seamlessly. I even have the 'Kaspersky' software allow advertising banners within websites I frequent, but disallow pop-ups. PERFECT! Moreover, I was told that 'Kaspersky' has been highly touted by all the PC magazines and online review sites, and it's not a 'memory hog' like other packages, thus not slowing down one's online surfing experience. This bears out, since there has been no noticeable slowdown when i'm online. What a relief to now know I have maximum security in place while i'm online, and not even noticing it since it works so seamlessly in the backround! HIGHLY recommended! ADDENDUM and UPDATE to my review; March 27th: It is a few days after I initially posted my review, and I feel impelled to add to the accolades for this incredible product! My wife's PC has been 'disabled' by viruses, spyware, and pop-ups to the point where it has been unusable for months now. After having good luck with 'Geek Squad' with my PC as described above, we were going to call them and probably spend a few hundred dollars more to get her PC operational. But before we called 'Geek Squad', I thought to myself why not try installing Kaspersky in her computer, and see if I could run a complete system scan to get rid of viruses and spyware that had slowed down her PC to almost a standstill. Amazingly, Kaspersky detected close to almost 300 'infections', and either deleted or quarantined/neutralized ALL OF THEM! This product is utterly AMAZING, and in one simple system scan, FIXED my wife's PC! It now works like new, and we have Kaspersky running to keep things this way. And we saved a good amount of money by not having to call a tech. I cannot say enough GREAT things about this software. It is a GODSEND (and no, I am not affiliated with Kaspersky in any way)!!!
I can't understand the other users here... October 25, 2007 A Reader (New Yok) 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
This is the best all-in-one security package available today. I tried all versions of Norton. I tried the latest AVG and Trend Micro. All of them do not compare to the slick and easy interface and setup of the Kaspersky package. The only feature you may want to change from it's default setting is the file scanning feature which you may want to put at maximum if you are prone to attacks. Please at least install the trial version before believing the other comments posted here. You will be happy you did. Also, the price for a 3 user package is very affordable.
Kaspersky is the best! Norton please take notes. May 29, 2008 DaddyBlogger.com www.daddyblogger.com (Battle Creek, MI United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have tried them all and Kaspersky wins big as is clear by their amazon.com sales ranking. Beware of bad reviews for this product because they are coming from either: a) the competition b)people that do not take the time to read up on the product. I have installed this product on over 20+ computer without a single problem. Number one rule - uninstall any traces of Norton, McAfee, Trend, etc that you might have on your computer BEFORE installing Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. How is it that anyone could download software on their computer without either reading about the specifics prior or after the installation? Those who report problems in their reviews could have easily fixed it by just a few minor changes via the Kaspersky ontrol panel. Buying this program through Amazon will save you money compared to other places including Kaspersky's own website. Even if you do not inlcude the rebate this is a steal for 3-user protection as long as you buy it on Amazon. Internet Security includes Kaspersky's award winning anti-virus, trojan, worm, etc software but it also includes their firewall which does an excellent job. If you have Windows XP and are running the Windows Firewall you are using a worthless firewall. Windows XP firewall protects you only from incoming and not outgoing. For a firewall to be even remotely effective you need incoming and outgoing firewall protection. Windows Vista has an included incoming/outgoing firewall but it is weak at best. The Kaspersky Firewall has a setting for stealth mode that allows your computer to remain "invisible" to pings sent from hackers looking for suckers who are still running the Windows Firewall. I would suggest that you set the firewall setting for Kaspersky to "training mode" which after a few days of surfing you should have it trained well. This program will not slow down your computer like Norton, McAfee, Trend, etc. IF and only IF you notice that it does slow your computer you have to adjust some of the settings. For example, unlike MANY of the Internet Security packages this awesome product scans the websites you visit prior to loading the page. This is an incredible assett that other Internet Security Programs only wish they had. If you notice some slowing of the loading of webpages this is the reason why. So...go to Kaspersky control panel and click on web-antivirus. Switch the scan method FROM "Buffering Scan" to "Streaming Scan" and this should improve things tremendously. You can also add trusted urls that you visit often to further speed things up. MANY will not need to change this setting at all. If you still are having problems with slow uploading of webpages then uncheck "scan http traffic" which will still give you protection and block dangerous scripts in Internet Explorer. You can make your computer super protected with this incredible software but before you start clicking and unclicking options use common sense and READ THE MANUAL THAT KASPERSKY PROVIDES IN PRINT AND ALSO AS A PDF FILE. What I love about this software is that on the bottom left corner of most tabs it has a HELP button which if you click on it will take you directly to an online manual explaining the options, changes, etc. on that particular setting page for the software. Make sure that you enable the Extended rootkit scan which will most likely be off when you first download and start this program. Most all options on this program have a heuristic analyzer setting option where you can change this from shallow, medium, and detail. Set it to "detail" if you are paranoid about anything being on your computer and do not mind the slightly extra time it takes. If you get wierd about scanning time do not worry. Adjusting a few settings and this thing can be ultra-fast. If you prefer you can ask the software to dig super deep and look for some of the deeply hidden trojans, viruses, keyloggers, etc. There is also an option to allocate resources (memory, etc) to other programs that you are using so it does not slow them down while Kaspersky is scanning. Look at the reviews from AV-Comparatives dot org, AV-Test dot org, CNET, PCWorld, etc they all RAVE about this product. So remember after downloading this award winning internet security software if you have ANY problems READ THE MANUAL...a few minor tweaks and you will happy as can be! daddyblogger dot com
