Better than the cap that came with my Klean Kanteen September 23, 2008 Johnyx 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I like this a little better than the stainless/plastic one that originally came with my Klean Kanteen. Unfortunately, like the stainless/plastic cap, this cap gets some water trapped inside it when washed in a dishwasher--maybe not quite as much with this one, but I can hear it sloshing around in there when I shake the cap. This cap is all plastic (polypropylene, which has a fairly safe reputation at this time.) Unlike the plastic loop-top cap, this one has a a texture around the edge where you grip it to tighten or loosen it.
Klean Kanteen Stainless Cap October 12, 2008 W. Jensen (God's Country - Wisconsin) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great cap - if you're going to invest in a stainless bottle, go the extra mile and get the stainless cap, too. A bit pricey, but it's worth it.
Better than the poly loop cap October 15, 2008 Jonathan Wong (Irvine, CA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
After reading some negative reviews about the steel cap, I ordered my bottle with the poly cap instead. I was quickly unsatisfied with the poly cap because it retains the smell of whatever soap you used to wash it. I then ordered the steel cap and I found that it was far superior. Not only does the steel cap wash cleanly without any residue or leftover smell, but it actually covers the entire lip of the bottle opening. The poly cap does not and it leaves this part exposed. This is important because this is where your lips are actually touching when you drink from the bottle. I only hand-wash my steel cap, so I haven't had any of the water-retention problems that I've read about in other reviews.
stainless steel or polypropylene? July 17, 2008 jose jiminez (San Jose, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For some reason, I thought a polypropylene flat cap came standard with the Klean Kanteen water bottle which is why I bought this stainless steel loop cap. I was surprised when my water bottle came with a stainless flat cap. Nevertheless, I like the loop cap better than the flat cap. It is easier to screw on and off and to carry the bottle with. It is too expensive though. Make sure you order it with the bottle at the same time so you don't have to pay for extra shipping.
Get this- don't settle for plastic June 17, 2008 S. Hardy (Iowa, USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I decided after getting the Klean Kanteen 27 oz bottle, to switch from a plastic to the s.s. and HIGHLY suggest it. Water tastes super clean and fresh with the s.s. and using a plastic cap where you drink from ruins it. So worth it!
