Works great when you know your problem February 3, 2007 fiddler (02138) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Like everyone else I have a room that doesn't get the benefit of enough heat. Is is fed by a side duct off the main furnace duct - really a bad design because the heat on its way up three flights races past this duct and even a scoop doesn't cure the 5 degree deficit. I put this fan over one of the two outlets for this side duct, AND BLOCKED THE OTHER to prevent the fan from just pulling air from the other vent. It now has to pull from the furnace and the 5 degree difference disappeared. It is also on a thermostatic control.
Works Well! Increases AC/Heat efficiency! June 10, 2005 CQ DX (Ohio, USA) 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
During the summer months, the upstairs rooms in our house are considerably warmer than the ground level and basement. Using the Suncourt 'Register Booster' in combination with opening/closing certain registers, has helped us achieve a more balanced and uniform cooling and heating between all levels of our home. This is truly a great product that costs pennies a day to run, and that gives you a more than ample return in increased comfort level and even a bit of savings on your monthly bill. I have 2 upstairs, and they are a godsend.
Works great with wood heat! December 9, 2007 Donald M. Lynch (Remer, MN) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have a Charmaster furnace at my cabin. It burns propane or has a wood box. When burning wood, you need to manually turn the blower on the main furnace on(and off) to circulate the hot air in the plenum. Once the hot air is started the Register Booster will continue to "pull" heated air for as long as the plenum and ducts have hot air - can be for hours! It's much cheaper to run than the furnace blower and I can leave the EQ2 on when when I'm not around which you can't do with the furnace. I put the EQ2 in rooms with poor circulation and have even heat through out the cabin (the cabin is an older two story five bedroom structure). Definitely worth the investment in this situation.
Bought it based on a recommendation. Love it! Good Product February 27, 2008 DEB 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
What a neat idea. Had a friend recommend it so I bought one to try and warm up my spare bedroom. Plug it in, turn the knob to set it, and it does a very good job. Keeps my bedroom about 5 degrees warmer than it was. I didn't really notice the fan noise, it just fades away for me. It's nice to run across products that work as advertised.
it works for me August 4, 2007 B. Krueger 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Based on the other reviews, it sounds as though the EQ2 works for some people and doesn't for others depending on their individual room and HVAC configurations. I have an upstairs room with a vaulted ceiling that is 10 degrees Fahrenheit hotter or colder than the rest of the house. The room is more than 200 sq. ft., has only one vent, and is the farthest from the blower. I've had my EQ2 now for 3 years and it is still working fine. The EQ2 brings the temperature difference down to about 4 degrees, which is livable. I tried out the AirFlow Breeze that has 2 DC fans in it but it didn't work as well as the EQ2.
