It's been several months and several road trips through dirt and rocks, and the magnet is holding strong. I just spent 2 hours on a Class D Forest Service road, and eventhough my exhaust had to be adjusted back into place, this little thing held tight.
It doesn't rattle. No complaints.

This box is made of plastic and has a very strong magnate and an optional metal plate that can be mounted so that the magnate can be attached. Seems to be well made for the price.
