I had a lightning strike near my house which wiped out my router, network switch, and motherboard-based network adapter. I had a UPS so assumed I was safe but it looks like I got a voltage spike on my cable tv line which then spread from the router to my ethernet cable. Now, my cable, ethernet, and power connectors are all protected should such a thing ever happen again! Plus, the wide spacing of the outside outlets on this Belkin surge protector allow me to connect all my network gear, two computers and monitors, and my entertainment center. I did considerable research before selecting this surge supressor and am very satisfied.

There are a lot of reviews on this product, but I had to add mine. After lightening struck a tree next to our house, our neighbors suffered several appliance failures, including a blown TV. Ours, including our computer survived (plugged into one of these). More amazingly, the outlet this was plugged into blew out of the wall, frying the protector, the TV lost its color for 3 days, but then popped back in and we are still using it. Our electrician says, he's never seen anything like it, but he's recommending this surge protector now.

This Belkin 12-outlet surge protector is the best one I've ever used. The cord is 10 feet long - most others are 6 or 8 feet long. The surface of the surge protector is long and thin. The 3 outlets along each of the two sides have space that's wide enough to accomodate extra large adapters. I have never seen this before. With my prior surge protectors, the larger adapters actually overlapped and took up 2 outlets. With this new Belkin, those larger adapters are no problem as they'll use only 1 outlet each with no overlapping. Regular sized plugs can go into the interior 6 outlets. This is great and a great price.

Great - big - everything fits with no overlap. Like the glowing lights on it. Sturdy - reliable. A definate 5 star BUY. I read the others...who needs colors? Who needs tilting outlets? Wish it came in white but hey, I wish it came in carpet colors too - can't have everything. Fantastic product...let it rain, let it pour, let it lightening all it wants to now. Bring on the tornado with that electrical storm...I won't lose a wink of sleep running around unplugging all my electricals (computer, etc)...or worrying wondering if I unplugged everything before I left for that hard earned vacation. Time to go to sleep so excuse me....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. (wink!)

Arrived quickly. Sturdy build. Plenty of outlets. I like the flat plug so furnature can be placed close to the wall without a big plug sticking out.
