Function meets the ultimate in style with the Jabra JX10 Bluetooth headset. Featuring a design by world-renowned Danish designer Jacob Jensen, a host of powerful features, and a diminutive size that screams "wear me all day," the JX10 is sure to find a place in your mobile device entourage.

The sleek, compact design makes the Jabra JX10 among the smallest and lightest headsets available. Weighing in at less than one-third of an ounce, and under an inch and a half long, you'll barely feel you're wearing it. The headset fits securely in either ear and it can be worn with or without the included earhook. Automatic volume control via DSP technology means that sound level and quality are matched to suit the environment you're in. The technology also significantly reduces background noise.

Pairing the JX10 with your Bluetooth phone is a breeze, thanks to the headset's one-tough pairing button. Intuitive, fingertip controls let you answer and end calls, or adjust the volume, while a multi-colored LED informs you of Bluetooth, battery level, and charging status. When used with a compatible phone, the headset also supports voice dialing, last-number redial, call reject, call hold, and call waiting. The JX10 supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification.

With six hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time, the JX10 is engineered to last through a busy day. When you're ready to recharge it, slip it into the elegant recharging cradle. And when you're on the go, you can also charge from your laptop via an included USB cable.

5 out of 5 stars Pleasently Surprised - the Best BT Headset Out There   January 28, 2006

I use to be the flagbearer for the Cardo Scala 500 and LogiTech Pro --- and while those headsets hold a special place in my heart, they'll never see the light of day anymore because of this great new headset from Jabra

The JX10 is an EXCELLENT headset --- I'll list the pros and cons below -

1. SOUND QUALITY OUTBOUND --- I called my own voicemail and talked into it, while wearing this headset --- not only did it sound great in my regular voice, but I could even hear myself whispering (yes, I tested that too) --- so don't believe those who say that people on the other end will not hear you --- outbound sound quality wise, its the best headset out there, as I heard no static, no drop-outs, and no tunnel effects

2. SIZE --- easily, this is the most comfy headset out there --- it is optional to attach it to your ear, and wear it without the loop --- honestly, the loop holds it in place much better, with no discomfort one bit --- yes, you can wear it without the loop, and it will hold okay, but either way is fine --- the thing is TINY which is neat

3. CALL PICK UP --- call pick up happens instaneous, with a half a second delay --- no manual initiation necessary

4. BATTERY and CHARGER --- the battery seems to hold just fine all day --- and the charger is real small --- the package also includes a USB charger, so that you can charge it over USB on your computer, which I thought was pretty useful for people on the road

Other pros would be that the RANGE seems pretty solid, and PAIRING was easy (I liked that JABRA created a SEPERATE pairing button)

I would consider VOLUME a pro --- it would be nice if it was louder --- however, I can hear everyone just fine, provided that I'm indoors (whether that be in the office, in the car, etc) --- it can hold its own outdoors, but if you use your headset a lot outside, then you may wanna test run the JX10 first --- I think the Cardo Scala 500 had the LOUDEST volume, and the JX10 comes very close to that loudness

CONS ---

1. BUTTONS --- this is really a MINOR complaint --- I think the button placement (accepting calls, ending calls) could be a little better - but its not a big deal, and certainly, not a deal breaker --- the thing is so small, that its kinda hard to fit any buttons on it anyways

honestly --- can't think of any other cons

The headset is definitely the best looking --- silver with black streaks!

I love this headset, and its gonna be awhile until its unseated

yes, the price is steep, but its worth it --- take my word for it

thank you for reading and HAPPY BUYING!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Best BT headset yet   March 17, 2006

I've tested most of the name brand headsets out there, including the Motorola HS820/850, Jabra BT800, Sony Ericsson, and others, and this one is by far the best one yet overall.

My profile:

I'm an IT professional who's on the phone all day long, (and most nights), making & receiving calls while in the car, at lunch, at home, and everywhere in between, so I needed something light, small, and with great battery run time, that can stay on my ear comfortably and unobtrusively.

I first have to mention that I'm on my second JX, since the first one I bought was apparently having a firmware issue which caused it to disconnect/reconnect my headset around every half hour or so, making it very annoying since sometimes it would not reconnect.

A quick email to Jabra tech support, and they came through and stood behind their product, offering to replace it with a new headset at no charge (the only charge I had was to ship the product to them).

The new headset works wonderfully. It stays connected all day long, and it also is a lot quieter than the headset it replaced, since the faulty one had a pretty loud hiss when making and receiving calls.

Features:

* Sound quality & volume
This is a biggie. The sound can be cranked up to a point that it's TOO loud, so even on the noisiest environment this unit will perform. Unit has built in DSP (digital signal processing), which actually adjusts the volume in relation to environmental noise.
Quality is very good but not excellent, with a little background hiss when making & receiving calls (you only notice this initially, but quickly get used to it).
Sound quality is something that Motorola 850 has an advantage on, but it's something I can live with since the delta between very good and excellent is very small.
Callers on the other side of the conversation can hear me well, so the directional microphone seems to working very well.

* Size & comfort
Headset is unbelievably small and light, and you literally forget you have it on (I actually have to reach and touch my ear to make sure that don't have it on before going to bed or getting ready to take a shower. Yes, it's that small).
It features an adjustable wire loop that can be bent to fit any size and shape of ear, although I've found a weakness in this design is that the ear loop can get detached easily from the main body if you're not careful, since it clicks in place for switching from left to right wearers.
Unit sits snuggly in the ear and does not flop around like other designs, as I wear it when I work out and use the treadmill, and the headset will not move!

* Battery
Battery capacity is awesome, and it will last several days with normal use (I'm not normal, so I cradle mine every night), and your phone will run dry before the headset does.

* Charging
Unit comes discharged, but that is not a problem, as fully charging this device takes about two hours.
Another plus is that this model, as with other Jabra headsets, comes with both a cradle and a USB charging cable that allows you leave the cradle at home and take the USB with you to your office or on the road.
Then you can charge your headset by simply plugging the cable into your PC or laptop's USB port (very convenient).

* Ease of use
The JX has a main button for making/ending and redialing calls, as well as two volume buttons and a small paring button.
Unit turns on very fast (around 2.5 - 3 seconds), and the buttons are very tactile and easy to reach, so operating the unit becomes second nature very quickly.
Pairing is a snap. Just press the pair button until the LED is solid blue and then use your phone or PDA to discover it.
I used this with a Motorola E398, a Blackberry 7105, and currently with an HP iPaq 6315 that is my current phone as well.

* Styling
Unit is very pleasing to the eye, it has a very small footprint and the blue LED is small and doesn't look like an airport runway beacon that blinds other people around you.

To recap:

Pros:

Size & weight
Comfort
Battery capacity
Sound quality & volume
USB charger
Ease of use
Jabra Tech Support

Cons:

Wire loop design tends to come off sometimes
Slight hiss in the background may bother some users
Priced higher then other units

Overall:

Highly recommend if you want one of the smallest, lightest, and great performing headset.

5 out of 5 stars Exellent headset   March 31, 2006

I read all the reviews before purchasing this headset, and I must say it has not disappointed. I am using it with a Motorola V710 and it works wonderfully. I am a loader operator at a gravel pit, and it is quite loud in the cab, but I can still hear it clearly at only the second volume level. I bought the Jabra ear gels at Best Buy, and am using the large one. It works much better than the ear hook, and you sometimes forget you are wearing it. The design of the gels channels the sound directly into your ear. They were only $6.99 for a set of six, with three sizes for the right and left ear. They turn this headset from average to outstanding. The noise cancelling feature works very well. People I am talking to can tell that I am in my loader and can hear the noise of my machine, but still hear my voice clearly. When driving in my truck, or at home, they cannot even tell that I am using a headset. Occasionally, there is some static, but if I turn off the headset and drop it from the phone then turn it back on, it works as well as ever. I just bought the Motorola H700, and this one is in another league as far as sound quality and range. I strongly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Its Perfect ! (edited: after 2 months use)   March 16, 2006

[ORIGINAL REVIEW 3/15/06]: In my opinion, this is one of the best headsets I've seen or used. I've had Jabra 200, 250 before, and I do believe Jabra has done well in this market. Its unbelievably small. I was surprised to see that it is smaller than what it appeared to be in the pics.

I am trying to use it without the loop that goes behind the ear, and it seems to be OK, though not the best hold, but one can get used to it. But with the loop it fits snug and you can forget that you are wearing it since it so light ! I would recommend this headset for its design, quality, SIZE, easy of use, and functionality.

On a side note, I was using a Bluetooth 1.1 headset (Jabra 250) with my Bluetooth 1.2 phone, and I notice that this Bluetooth 1.2 headset (JX10) work noticably better than the previous one. Bottom line, if you have a BT 1.2 phone, try to use a BT 1.2 headset and get the advantage of the 1.2 protocol enhancements.

[EDITED REVIEW 5/23/06]: I have been using the Jabra JX10 for more than 2 months now, and still like it, so am Not lowering my 5 star rating. However, I found a few irks that I'd like to share:
1) I recently bought the Plantronics Voyager 510 and found Plantronics had a noticeable better range (distance away from phone without static) than Jabra JX10. But Jabra JX10 is significantly smaller than Plantronics Voyager so this range issue is acceptable to me.
2) Although you can use the Jabra JX10 without the wire loop, I managed to drop it (on the carpet, phew!) while walking when wearing 'without' the wire loop. I always use the wire loop now.

Bottom line: For the SIZE, good battery time, good buttons placement, USB chargeable, style, acceptable call quality (though limited range) I still like the Jabra JX10 over all other headsets available today.

5 out of 5 stars Jabra JX-10 fits the bill.   March 15, 2006

After buying my first Bluetooth device, the Motorola RAZR, I wanted to be able to use a wireless headset with it right away. After a friend who is a telecom expert sent me some options, I quickly decided on the Jabra JX-10, which I've had for just over a month now, and I haven't been disappointed.

The JX-10 is very light, so it sits on the ear comfortably, and can be used on either side of the head. Most importantly, the sound quality is outstanding, even outdoors in the wind. In an airport or while driving, it's even more than I had hoped for. While on a long road trip (500 miles each way) just after I bought it, I used the Jabra extensively while driving and was able to hear and be heard well at all times. If you can afford the higher price tag that comes with the JX-10, it's worth the investment.
