Its a so-so, not really wireless, not hard to do but needs a bit of wiring installation work, this is coming from a mechanic. 7" monitor is too big for most vehicles as it takes up a lot of room no matter where you put it. A 3.5" monitor would do the same job and not take up so much room. Camrea is wide angle but mounting insert does not angle the camera low enough to see the bumper so you have no way of measuring how close you are to an object. I still need to use rear view mirrors more than this system. 7" screen in ok, 16 x 9 aspect ratio but don't expect HD. Another quirk is the 2.4 Ghz transmitter/receiver. First you have to bring the transmitter module much closer to the front of the vehicle where the monitor is mounted in order to avoid interference. This means I have to splice in additional wires - a task Peak CSR insist that it can not be done and, will void the warranty. When on the road, it constantly pick up any 2.4 GHz video signal so you are watching other people's video, including someone who wired their back up camera to stay on permanently. On a typical 45 minutes trip across town, I picked up people's back yard, front yard, bedroom, hotel's foyer, tunnel traffic, gas station cash register, sidewalks, hospital beds, warehouse, etc etc etc. This may sound interesting to some but it sure pull my attention away from driving. Would I buy another one if I need one? No

The product worked just fine until last week (owned for 2 months), the screen started flashing when the truck was put into reverse and it would finally come on after a few seconds. Now the camera will not come on at all. The monitor still picks up the neighbors and other business's cameras so the problem must be with the camera or transmitter. I really loved it when it worked and it is a great safety devise as my truck is one of the largest SUVs on the road. I sent an email through Amazon to their affiliate who sold it to me. We'll see if they make this right. I will update this review based on the response. I'm really very disappointed, the picture was great when it worked.

Shortly after installing this system on my truck, the camera module which attaches to your rear license plate frame fell apart. The lens unit came out of the flimsy plastic housing and the wires pulled out of the circuit board. Avoid this product!

Ordered it, looked at it without opening it, and returned it. I bought the back-up camera because my new 2010 Buick LeSabre has miserable visibility out the rear window. I didn't realize that attaching the screen to my visor would leave me with a black cord dangling down to the 12V power source ALL OF THE TIME! Nor did I want to glue the screen to my dashboard (and have a black power cord dangling again)Peak Safety View Back-Up Camera System with 7 Inch Color LCD Monitor. Wireless is definitely not cordless.

The product did not work out of the package. Dealing with the manufacturer for a fix. Extremely frustrated, would like to return but pass the 30 days. I would not buy this product again or deal with this seller.
