IMHO this is slightly better than the Moto H700. It's larger, and a bit heavier. The boom is larger. But if that's not an issue, then both are equal IMHO. Both have the cheek problem!
Now for the problem where people cannot hear you, or you sound muffled or away from the phone. Wearing your bluetooth, look in the mirror and see how the boom touches your cheek or if you have a beard it'll touch that. Note there is a very small hole on the inside of the boom that gets the sound. Now anything that touches that will impede your voice....it's like putting a towel over a regular phone and talking to someone. Not you do not need puffy cheeks for this problem to happen. Unless you have a very narrow face, chances are this will happen to you and you'll blame it on the bluetooth!
TO fix this, get either Neoprene tubing or that sticky foam on one end (mole skin) and cut a small piece and put on the hinge near the boom then a smaller piece (if needed) on top of the other. This will make a space between your cheek and the boom so people can hear you! With this fix, you will still be able to close your boom.

Can't live with out it! For six months I've been using if for work and now it seems I always want to go hands-free.
Big Suprise! Last week, I discovered I accidently had left my HS850 in my jean's pocket as it went through the washer machine. A day later, as my wife was folding clean clothes she noticed it was in my jean pocket. To my shock, when I charged it, the familiar bluelight appeared, and when I tried it - my HS850 worked like new. A pleasant suprise that my HS850 was water proof enough to survive a full wash cycle. Note, my jeans were clothes-line dried and did not go through the dryer. Would not recommend you try this, but I was relieved to see my HS850 held up like a charm. Two-thumbs up, way up!!!

I was curious to see if I found any of the problems others mentioned in previous reviews. I didn't, and I believe that many of the problems others found are related to the phone or perhaps the phone/headset interface.
I'm using the headset with a Motorola V551 and I have no problem with either the volume or the quality of the sound in both directions. I drive a fairly noisy car and still don't need to turn the volume all the way up to hear a call while driving. I find the headset very comfortable. OK, maybe my ears are not real sensistive -- I've been known to wear a David Clark headset (the big green muffs) for hours without discomfort. But this headset does not flop around on my ears and it is very comfortable.
With my usage a charge lasts about a week -- certainly can't complain about that -- and it recharges in 2 hours or less with the same charger my phone uses. I have stuffed it in a pocket, worn it around my neck where it gets banged against everything I lean against, and dropped it on the center console of the car, with no apparent effect. It still works just fine.
In short, a great product all around.

When I looked at this headset, I thought this will never work. Well, it did and exceeded my expectations. I have it paired with my V710 and calls are clear and easy to make and receive. I bought it primarily to use in my car, but I'm using it much of the time. My cell stays in my handbag most of the time now. Easy of use, clear calls, long stand-by time. It has it all. One note, I first bought the HS 820 and read a review that tested it for wind noise distortion. Not good. Exchanged it for the HS 850. No problem and I have a convertible.

I bought this motorola headset to use with my Razr phone. My daughter had purchased another style headset and has trouble with it going on in her purse if you just tap the on button, and at times I have trouble hearing her when she is talking to me, like we have a bad connection. I bought this HS850 based on the Amazon reviews and I could not be happier!! My daughter tells me that she can not tell if I am on the phone or the bluetooth. I have used it everywhere and there is rarely a problem with her hearing me, the same as with the phone. Like others said it feels insecure on my ear, but has never fallen off. It is so light that it just feels it could. The little foam pad on the earpiece fits against the ear better so that I can hear better on this than my phone at times.
It is so easy to turn on and off with the folding boom. It will not go on by mistake because you have to fold the boom out, but then it just connects to the phone and it is a go. I love the voice prompts when I put it on so I can call with out touching my phone and it understands me clearly.
It holds a charge for a long time. I do not have it turned on all the time, so it holds a charge for weeks.
I have been very very happy with this model and wish it was the one my daughter had. I would buy it again if I had a choice.
