Very good drive, but you are better off with the 1GB model for the price January 4, 2007 Atomicwasteland (North Bethesda, MD USA) 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
This drive is fine. The problem is that there is very little price difference between this drive (the 512 MB model) and a larger drive (the 1GB model). For six bucks more you are better off getting THAT drive which is twice the size of this one. Other than that, considering the 512MB OR 1GB model, you really have just enough space (for a really good price) to perform all your daily tasks -such as moving Powerpoint presentations (or songs and video) between computers. Haven't used a "flash drive" before? You pull off the cap and plug the drive directly into your computer's USB port. (You don't need any software or drivers to preload - just plug it in to any computer.) When it is plugged in the computer automatically recognizes it as a new drive right on your desktop. I.e. Go to your "My Computer" section and it now shows up as a new drive. You then treat it like you would any other drive -you can just drag and drop files to it. One final note: the place where a line attaches is on the drive body itself, and not the cap. This is good because if you attach it to something it won't slide out of the cap leaving you with an empty cap tied to your neck (or keychain) with no drive... And finally, I think this is a great present for non-techies. My parents have finally become converts and they use a drive like this all the time.
Fantastic May 22, 2007 B5Anteros (New England) 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
This is great! 4GB for $36 and change... plus I ordered it on Tuesday and received it on Thursday on Free Super Saver! How'd they do that? I transferred EVERYTHING crucial I needed fom my old PC to the new one in two trips. Now I'm using it as ReadyBoost on my Windows Vista piece of junk.. but that's another story.
Great value November 10, 2006 Christoph (Austin, TX) 44 out of 52 found this review helpful
What's to say about it. It works, great size, and one of the more competitively priced ones at the time. 2 gigs of storage for this price is about as good as it gets.
Plenty of room, plenty simple, and just plain works! June 26, 2007 Steve Lawson (Aliso Viejo, CA United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Lots of room for my stuff, connects without a problem, data transfer is zippy, and I don't miss the U3 (my SanDisk microCruzer with U3 crapped out) -- this one just works and works and works! Love it!! And though it has a cap, no worries about it getting lost, because it snaps onto the back -- how cool is that?!? And BECAUSE it has a cap, I can carry it around in my pocket without worrying about lint getting jammed up in the USB connector. Let's see, what else - * It's nice and slim so it rides in my pocket quite sweetly * It's a heck of a lot more convenient than messing with CDs or DVDs * It's even kind of pretty ;)
Essential!! March 25, 2007 Matthew V. Naranjo (New York, NY USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've used these flash drives for over two years and can't imagine life without them. They've completely replaced floppy disks. Moving data between computers is a snap, and the extra capacity is great. I use it between Windows XP and Mac OS X without a hitch. No need to burn CD's unless you're archiving data. Great work-around when local networks don't work properly, too.
