These are the perfect size if you like dairy with your espresso extraction May 30, 2007 Manish Laxmikant 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought the shot size, the larger 12-oz size, but my favorites are this size. Here are my reasons for the five-star grade: - They fit under my espresso machine spout so I don't have to use an intermediate container - They're short enough to allow steaming of half-and-half or milk right in the glass - The insulation keeps hands from the heat while frothing in the glass - The rounded shape is a pleasure to hold and the smooth edges are great to drink out of - They keep the drink warm if I'm at my desk and sipping occasionally - They are great for serving several people since you have time to accumulate a few cups while the beverage stays hot as you're extracting espresso one by one - And they look really beautiful especially with a layer of deep brown espresso, a layer of steamed milk or half and half, and a head of froth. Yes, they're pricey, but they are an indulgence completely worth it. Hey, you'd spend that much on a few cups of espresso from a shop, but you can have these for ever (or until you break them - and it isn't all that easy to do that. I hand wash and once in a while they land harder than I'd like on a granite countertop, but I haven't broken any yet)
Great for Texas September 23, 2005 D. Meermans (Plano, Texas USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I am very happy with the Beer Glasses. In Texas where your beer warms up fast, it stays nice and cool when sitting outside and the temp is 95-100 degrees. Just sit in the shade. I have not had a leakage problem with my glasses.
Simply the best. March 11, 2007 Dana Durand 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
A little pricy - but well worth it! Keeps cold liquids - cold, and hot - hot. It's always surprizing when I pick up the glass and it feels room temp but the drink inside is ice cold. No condensation, ever. I clean these in the dishwasher (being careful to keep them separated so they don't bang against each other) and haven't had any problems. Drinks always look interesting suspended in the air. I've got 20 of them in various sizes. This is the only glassware I'll ever want.
Love these - but one bit of advice... March 10, 2006 M. Schuck (Highlands Ranch, CO USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I use these daily for cappuccinos, and I love them. The insulation value is very good, and they look and feel great. They claim to be made of a different type of glass that is tougher than normal glass. This may be true, but this glass also seems slicker than normal glass when wet. I have had one slip out of my hands while washing it. Now that I am aware of this difference, I always pay attention while washing them. I haven't had any problems since. (I can't bring myself to put them in the dishwasher - even though they are supposed to be dishwasher safe.) Buy and enjoy, just be careful when they are wet.
I'm not someone to rant and rave about glasses... December 21, 2006 Bilbo (San Francisco, CA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
...So try this: go pour a cup of hot tea into one of the glasses sitting in your kitchen right now. Wait 5 mins minutes. Try and pick the glass up. Did that hurt? Hot isn't it! Now -- buy these glasses and repeat. See the difference? The glass is only a tiny bit warmer than when you picked it up 5 minutes ago - if at all. I absolutely insist on serving coffee in these glasses whenever we have guests over. Being the simple people that we are, we have simple friends, and everyone who lays their hands on them is fascinated. Expensive but very, very durable - and dishwasher safe. We've had a couple of drops onto carpet and vinyl flooring with no breakages. Ours were packed much the same as any other Amazon shipment - and arrived intact.
