Frisbee free burns December 29, 2007 Brian H (Denver CO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This media works fine for burning, used in an internal and a USB burner, any coaster issues I had have been related to the burning software and data being burnt, the price is right at the moment.
Works great on Intel Dual Core iMac running OS 10.4.11 February 17, 2008 Marc Pollitt (California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've burned about a dozen of these so far, with 100% success rate, using the built-in Superdrive on my Intel Dual Core iMac, with Toast Titanium 8.0.3 as the burn program. One word of warning, though... if you plan to use these for extended play or higher definition DVDs, be aware that NOT ALL DVD PLAYERS recognize them. We have two DVD players in our house, both from Pioneer, and they run flawlessly on one while on the other (the older of the two) they stall and sputter. The one that runs them was a $25 special, so it's not a question of high-end vs. low-end players (the other one was about $30, but it's two years old now, compared to the other one, which was purchased in November 2007). Therefore, if you have a newer Macintosh and use Toast Titanium 8.0, you can almost certainly count on these discs burning cleanly; with Windows machines it seems to be something of a crapshoot, based on the other reviews (too many system variables to make any sort of predictions).
whats all the fuss about? April 4, 2008 lanceplace (Bremerton, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Received package today. Immediately "backed-up" a movie. It plays beautifully in the DVD/ VCR player. 1)Analyzed and created TS folders using DVD-Shrink. 2)Created layer breaks using PGCEdit. 3)Burned disc using IMGBurn. (Changed speed from 8x to 4x because I wanted to eliminate chances for error.) If this was a fluke and I start to see "bum" blanks, I will update to warn off prospective buyers. So far, its the best deal out there for a 50 count DVD+R DL.
Satisfied, great value! April 12, 2008 Peter Stein 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am happy with this purchase, so far I have used about 25 of these disks with one failure which could have been avoided. Prior to this purchase I only used Verbatim dual layer media, but due to recent quality control issues I have decided to try something new. Prior to using this media I upgraded the firmware on my DVD burners where applicable. The one failure I have had was with my old NEC drive (NEC ND-3500AG). Since this failure I have used only my newer drive to burn these disks (Optiarc AD-7191A). I am very satisfied with the quality of this media. Best of all this media is far cheaper than what I have used in the past, a welcome change. I would recommend this media. For those who are interested the media I received has the following Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66
Memorex DL May 14, 2008 M. Lee (Richmond Hill, NY United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I seldom write reviews, but I have make this time an exception. These DL's are very good. I think the reason why some of you have coasters is you burn it at the maximum speed. If you lower the burn speed you will get good results. I am on my second 50-pack. I haven't had a coaster so far. The price is so much better than the Verbatim brand at approx 99 cents each.
