Things to consider... February 20, 2007 EstheticianExtrordinare (California) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
ALL printers eat ink and that's a fact. This bundle does not include the big black ink tank. Know that anywhere you go (office supply, whatever) this is how it's packaged by Canon. I have checked all the local office retail outlets and these babies run $15-$20 more plus gas and aggravation. I personally like the convenience of being able to get the colors separately rather than in one cartridge as was the case with my old printer (if you use one color more than the rest, the whole cartridge is shot). This is practical for me, and those that print in limited color ranges in large quantities (I do alot of brochures, biz cards, etc). If you're printing alot of photos (high ink saturation) you will fly through cartridges like crazy no matter the brand. I don't so mine last longer than usual. I have also purchased an ink saving software that has helped tremendously with savings.....you may want to consider that. The initial investment has paid for itself many times over. My prints still look great regardless. I appreciate the way Canon divides the ink because I've tossed too many cartridges not only because of using one color more, but also because of error messages because of taking the cartridge out to "reset" the machine. Oh well, my old Dell printer deserves to be launched off a 12 story building! Anyhow, consider software to save your ink if you print alot for biz purposes like me. Also, consider what you are saving by printing your own photos versus traditional photo processing and you might change your mind. Fact of the matter is, printers eat ink...and to the person who compares these small cartridges to a huge laser toner tank I can only say "get real"! Laser printers are much more expensive to operate, and are not practical for everyone.
Canon TriColor ink - good deal September 10, 2007 Eugene G. Curtis (Shokan, NY) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought the four-pack for my Canon Pixma iP4300 from Amazon because the price was good, and they offer free shipping on orders over $25. Also, I have gotten less than satisfying results from off-brand ink cartridges. I bought a high-rated printer to get good pictures, so why go with ink that is a couple of dollars cheaper? Most of my online shopping is through Amazon, and I have never been disappointed.
Great prints good price October 10, 2007 Brett Weaver (Loretto, TN USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I tried "aftermarket" ink (about $10 for the counterpart to this item) after going through the ink that came with my MP600. It printed ok, but the color was not as good and you have to remove the chip from the Canon cartridge and stick it to the aftermarket cartridge while wearing the supplied plastic glove. This is not fun when you are in a hurry to get something printed. It seems I'm always in a hurry when I'm printing for some reason! At any rate, I came back to the Canon ink and I'm glad I did. Amazon gave the usual great service and I'm loving the Prime shipping! PC Magazine did a printing cost review a couple of issues back and the MP600 was about second from the top for least expensive printing. I was pleased. Canon printers and ink strike a good balance between quality (excellent) and cost per page (always very competitive). Inkjet printing is not cheap no matter which printer you have, but I'm pleased with this item as the best, most reliable solution for the lowest or almost lowest price.
CANON PRINTER IS GREAT AND INK TANKS ARE TOO October 30, 2007 Lyle Davidson (SAN DIEGO, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Buying these cartridges in Multipacks is a real moneysaver. The cartridges are easy to change out (at least on the 4200 model). Don't make the mistake of changing cartridges when the printer software says one of the tanks is "low". When it really does run out you will be told that.
Nothing like the original March 2, 2007 Carol (Chatsworth, CA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I find the ink last a fairly long time (good number of full pages printed) and quality... well, I've tried the self refills and the generic brands and all the ones I tried were awful. I print a lot of photos and only the original inks print my photos in top quality. It isn't worth damaging my printer for the generic inks that aren't as good anyway. I will stick with the original... it's worth the extra money.
